In Short:
Brazil achieved a record in beef exports in 2024, reaching 2.89 million tons, a remarkable 26% increase compared to the previous year.
The exported volume generated $12.8 billion in revenue, reflecting a 22% growth from 2023. Roberto Perosa, president of Abiec, described the year as "historic for the national beef industry, the livestock sector, and Brazil as a whole.".
China and the US remain the leaders among the country's beef buyers. In the first quarter, sales to both markets totaled nearly half of all Brazilian beef exports (amounting to US$ 1.53 billion in exports to both), according to data compiled by the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) and the Brazilian Association of Slaughterhouses (Abrafrigo).
